Contact Island House Hotel
May through October, Mackinac Island’s oldest hotel is ready to welcome you to breathtaking waterfront views and convenient just out of downtown location across from the Mackinac Island State Harbor. With various package options, the Island House Hotel is an excellent option for exploring the historic charm of a stay on Mackinac Island.
The Callewaert family has welcomed visitors and guests to this award-winning Michigan Historic Landmark since rescuing the historic estate from years of neglect in 1969. The Island House is the only hotel on Mackinac Island located within the pristine boundaries of the Mackinac Island State Park, 1700 square acres of the best that Michigan’s natural resources offer. In 2004, Island House was indoctrinated as a Historic Hotel of America, and in 2020, the Callewaert family was given the Award of Excellence for their dedication to landmark preservation across multiple generations. Overlooking the beautiful shores of Lake Huron, three two-bedroom suites and 91 cozy guest rooms await your stay. An elevator services the first three floors of the hotel, and we offer both handicap-accessible facilities and barrier-free handicap rooms.
We continue to add contemporary conveniences while preserving the historic ambiance of the Island House Hotel on Mackinac Island. Amenities include casual and fine dining, a heated indoor pool, an outdoor hot tub, bicycle rentals, and freshly decorated air-conditioned guest rooms with private bathrooms. Whether lunch in the garden, afternoons rocking on the porch watching bikes, boats, & buggies pass by, dinner in the elegant dining room, or evenings stargazing over the harbor, Island House Hotel is the perfect location to experience a complete and authentic stay on Mackinac Island.
